Please see below for the health and safety plan for the UMYBSL for the 2021 spring season. Our plan  adheres to the Covid-19 protocol, as outlined by the local, state and federal guidelines.

UMYBSL COVID 19 Health & Safety Procedures For Practice & Play

• All federal, state and local guidelines will be followed for practices and games
• Any coach, parent or player with a fever, cough or other COVID 19 symptoms is restricted from participating in practices or play
• Any coach, parent or player who has been exposed to COVID 19 must adhere to the up-to-date CDC quarantine guidelines before returning to practice or play
• UMYBSL follows the recreational sports masking guidelines set forth by the state of Pennsylvania which states that players must wear a face covering, "unless they are outdoors and can consistently maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet."  At our fields, players are required to wear masks while walking from the parking lot to the field, when on the sidelines and less than 6 ft apart from other children and adults. They do not have to wear a mask while in the playing field for practice and games.
• Coaches and parents must wear masks while at the UMYBSL fields and practice social distancing from other coaches and parents.
• Practices and game times will be staggered to allow for social distancing during pickup and dropoff of players. 
• Hand sanitizer will be placed in and around dugouts for coaches, parents and players
• Access to bathrooms will be limited to one person or one family at a time
• The snack stand at Lookout Park will not be open for the 2021 season
• All players across all leagues must provide their own equipment, including bat, glove and helmet, as it can not be shared
• Dugout will not be extensively used during the games
  • Players will keep gear outside of fences on foul lines
  • Players will bring a chair and must sit in the chair when not at bat or on the field of play
  • Only 1 coach and the 2 players on deck are permitted in the dugout at a time
• Coaches, parents and players must refrain from shaking hands, high-fiving and fist bumping while at the UMYBSL fields
  • At the end of the game, teams will stand on their foul line and raise their hats to the other teams to say ‘good game’

Please see below for the UMYBSL requirements when a player or family member receives a positive result from a Covid-19 test. All of these guidelines have been provided by the Bucks County Department of Health

• If a family member is positive, a player can not return to any practices or games until the player has completed a full 10 day quarantine
• If a family member is positive, it is not a requirement to notify the team, as this is considered “exposure of exposure” 
• If a family member is positive, practices and games do not have to be cancelled
• If a family member is positive, teammates and coaches of the player are not required to quarantine because they are not considered close contacts
• If a player is positive, teammates and coaches may be considered close contacts and if so would be required to quarantine for 10 days

If a player is positive, how do we determine who is a close contact?

• If a player is asymptomatic, teammates and coaches are considered close contacts if they have been within 6 feet of the player for 15+ minutes 48 hours before a positive test  
• If a player is symptomatic, teammates and coaches are considered close contacts if they have been within 6 feet of the player for 15+ minutes 48 hours before onset of symptoms
• If a player is positive, and the team has been together within 48 hours and are therefore determined to be close contacts, practices and games must be cancelled until the 10 day quarantine is complete
